Wastes

Water pooling in the tray, a leak under the cabin, or a smell from the drain can all come back to the waste. Here you’ll find plug waste housings for low trays, pop-up wastes for cabins with a bath or whirlpool base, and flexible waste hoses. Wastes aren’t universal: the size of the hole in your tray decides which one fits. Unsure which one you need? Send us a photo of the plug and your cabin’s model number.

How to identify yours

  • Tray hole: measure the hole the waste sits in. Our plug waste housings fit 60mm, 75mm to 80mm, and 85mm to 90mm holes, and the pop-up plug waste housing takes a much smaller hole.
  • Tray or tub: a low tray takes a plug waste housing. A bath or whirlpool base takes a pop-up waste assembly; ours is 840mm overall with a 630mm hose.
  • Waste hose: ours is about 90cm with 40mm push-fit ends. The Aqualux hose is about 137cm, 53mm push-fit at one end and 40mm threaded at the other.

Symptoms and likely causes

Slow draining usually starts in the tray’s own trap or the flexible hose just behind it. See slow draining.

A smell from the drain means a dried-out or dirty trap. See a smelly drain.

Water under the tray is most often a perished seal under the waste housing or a split hose. See a leak from the bottom.

Water behind the cabin only after a shower points to the waste. See water behind the cabin.

Fitting tip

If your old pop-up waste took the steam generator’s drain on a push-fit with a jubilee clip, ours gives you three options: fit a 1/2-inch BSP brass blanking nut, add a plastic push fitting to convert it, or swap to a double-ended hose.

When to call a professional

Reaching a waste usually means getting under the tray, so the cabin may have to come away from the wall: isolate the power and the water first. If water backs up or gurgles further down the household waste pipe, that’s a plumber’s job.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the steam connection?

Only on a steam shower, where it takes the generator’s drain water. On our pop-up plug waste housing it comes undrilled, so it can stay closed.

Is a waste hose included?

With two of ours: the large plug waste housing, and the pop-up plug waste housing, which comes with a 90cm flexi waste. Our 60mm housing needs one ordering separately.

Will it fit under my tray?

Check the space under your tray first. Our 60mm housing stands 82mm tall, the Aqualux 73mm, and the pop-up plug waste housing 65mm, measured from the underside.

Still unsure? Photograph the waste from above with a tape measure across the hole, plus one from underneath if you can reach, and we’ll match it.
