Remote Controls

Lost the remote, dropped it once too often, or worn the buttons out? A remote isn’t universal. It’s matched to the control panel it talks to, so an MK117 panel takes a different remote from an MK220 or a TR pad. Our MBK811A suits MK117, MK117B and MK117BQ cabins from Insignia, Vidalux, Aqualusso, Lisna Waters and Aquaplus. Check the code printed on the old remote, or send a photo of the control panel.

How to identify yours

  • Code on the remote: the model printed on it, such as MBK811A, MBK811, TR029, R07, PR8502 or PR1850.
  • Code on the panel: no remote left? Read the control panel. An MK117 panel (including MK117B and MK117BQ) takes the MBK811A and an MK220 pad the MBK811. Colorspa cabins with TR029 electronics take the TR029 remote.
  • Buttons: a quick check once you have the code. The MBK811A has 12, the PR1850 14 and the TR029 17. The TR style remote and our 18 button whirlpool remote both have 18, so go by the code, not the count.

Symptoms and likely causes

Panel blank and the remote does nothing: usually power isn’t reaching the unit, so check the RCD and fuse first. See a control panel that’s not working.

Radio silent though everything else works: usually volume or the FM and Bluetooth mode, not the remote. See radio or Bluetooth not working.

Shower switching on with nobody pressing anything: usually moisture behind the touch panel. See a shower that turns on by itself.

Fitting tip

Before you order, press the buttons on the panel itself. If the panel lights up but ignores its own buttons too, the likely fault is the electric control box behind the cabin, not the remote.

When to call a professional

A remote needs no tools. If the panel or the box behind it turns out to be the fault, checking the RCD and fuse is fine to do yourself. Anything inside the wiring after that: isolate the power and have an electrician do it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the shower while I wait for a remote?

Yes, if your cabin has a control panel: its own buttons still work without the remote.

Do the remotes come with batteries?

The Aqualux remote comes with 2 AA batteries. The others don’t say.

What can the remote control?

On an MK117, MK117B or MK117BQ cabin, the MBK811A runs steam, radio, lights, fan, volume, tuner, the aux input and the temperature timer.

No code anywhere? Photograph the remote and the control panel together and we’ll tell you which one you need.
